PURPOSE: A process for preparing a roof material is provided, which has excellent water resistance, water repellency, weather resistance, chemical resistance, and heat insulating effect. CONSTITUTION: This process comprises the steps of mixing 10Kg coal tar with 2Kg lubricating oil; preparing rubbery coal tar by mixing viscous coal tar, 2Kg acetylene, 500g potassium chloride, 500g copper chloride and 1Kg petroleum resin; preparing rubbery resin by dissolving 1Kg ABS resin chips in 2L toluene and mixing with the rubbery resin; preparing waste paper pulp with 2Kg waste paper; mixing the waste paper pulp and the rubbery coal tar resin using a cement mixer; mixing 1Kg paraffin chloride, 1Kg boron and 1Kg antimony oxide; mixing 5Kg silica with 100 mesh sizes and a pigment; and molding with a size of 20x20cm.
