PURPOSE: Provided is a method for preparing porous ceramic materials having lightweight from yellow soil as main materials. The prepared ceramic materials are able to keep high strength and is used to produce various environmental raw materials. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: (i) pouring yellow soil powder, glass powder and kaolinite or bentonite powder into a mixer and then rotating the mixer at a high speed of 600-1,200 revolutions per a minute to uniformly mix each particles; (ii) after pouring the mixed powder materials into a kneading machine, kneading the mixed powder materials with spraying 5-12 wt.% of water at 15-50 deg.C; (iii) putting the kneaded materials in a closed container and then aging it for 24-36 hours at room temperature; (iv) molding the aged materials into a fixed shape; (v) drying the molded semi-product; and (vi) sintering the dried semi-product with gradually increasing the temperature from 20 deg.C to 800 deg.C for 60 minutes.
