Earthmoving equipment has a blade (10) which is connected at it's lower part to a main chassis (6) by a ball and socket joint (9) which allows rotation in all directions. Two primary hydraulic jacks (59) control right and left motion of the blade and two secondary jacks (64) give rotation about a lateral horizontal axis. Soil is compacted by vibrating skates (11) mounted on a secondary chassis (41)
