CLASSIFICATION METHOD AND APPARATUS

PURPOSE: A classification method and apparatus is provided to automatically classify non-defective units and defective units, and store the result in a non-defective unit storage and a defective unit storage. CONSTITUTION: A hopper(12) is formed at a proper position of an upper plate(11) of a work table(10) so as to put units whose characteristics are checked. The hopper(12) has a shape with a wide upper part and a narrow lower part. A non-defective unit storage(13) for storing non-defective units and a defective unit storage(14) for storing defective units are provided on a bottom of the work table(10). A classifying unit(15) classifies units put to the hopper(12) into non-defective units and defective units, and stores the same in the non-defective unit storage(13) and the defective unit storage(14). A guide bracket(151) is installed on a lower part of the hopper(12) and a left/right carrying part is provided on the guide bracket(15). An actuator(153) is controlled by a control unit according to the non-defective units and the defective units. A non-defective unit guide tube(155) and a defective unit guide tube guide units to the non-defective unit storage and the defective unit storage, respectively.
