An artificial fire has one or more coherent light sources used. For each one, the wavelength lies in the visible range of the spectrum for human sight. Each is supplied with clocked current. Each is surrounded by a hollow body which has a certain distance from the light source. The wall of the hollow body takes over the function of a matt disc upon which light is projected, The inside or outside of the wall is thus roughened up. This matt disc in its surface can only be as big as the human eye recognizes a brightness difference occurring between neighbouring surfaces. |
