The device consists of two or more parallel rails (4,5), a slide moving on each rail in longitudinal direction, and a pivoted clamp (27) on each slide to fasten the awning. A step-like adjusting element (42) is positioned between each rail and the associated clamp. Each slide is profiled like a reversed omega, with its base below the rail, and its sides are connected by a bridge. The awning (1) has projections, which lock into hooks of the clamp. The clamps have a screw and a nut to secure the awning in the clamp.
