Bath for producing powdered materials, especially carbon powders contains an organic solvent to which is added a hydrophobic complex of a metal with organic ligands. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a process for the production of powdered materials comprising suspending a starting powder in the bath and then removing the organic solvent; and (B) a process for the production of metallic limited hollow bodies.
