<p>A self-emission road sign system comprising sensor units (1,...,1) each having at least a visibility meter and an illuminometer out of the visibility meter, the illuminometer, aerovane, and a thermometer, an information processing/controlling unit (2) for centralized control of weather information collected by the sensor units and for prediction of danger in an observation area of a road, and road facilities (4,...,4) on which the output information of the information processing/controlling unit (2) connected through a network is displayed, wherein am optimum emission luminance for a predetermined contrast is calculated from the background luminance of the road measured by the illuminometer, and the emission luminance or information display of a sign unit is controlled according to the optimum emission luminance and visibility information outputted from the visibility meter.</p> |
