摘要 Olefin separation membrane production comprises the use of a polymer or polymer membrane containing a difficult to dissolve transition metal salt to reversibly complex the double or triple bonds of an unsaturated organic compound, so that it can be selectively transported through the polymer matrix by facilitated transport. Olefin separation membrane production comprises the use of a polymer or polymer membrane containing a difficult to dissolve transition metal salt to reversibly complex the double or triple bonds of an unsaturated organic compound, so that it can be selectively transported through the polymer matrix by facilitated transport, and a water soluble transition metal salt can be deposited and fixed in the membrane with the formation of a difficult to dissolve salt. An Independent claim is also included for the production of polymer membranes in three steps: (I) (a) storing the polymer or polymer membrane at 20-95 deg C in dilute mineral acid HX (concentration 2-15 wt.%) for 2-48 hours (X = Cl, Br, I), (b) rinsing the polymer or polymer membrane with distilled water at 20-95 deg C until the water no longer shows an acid reaction, (c) steeping the polymer or polymer membrane in 0.1-2M silver nitrate solution at room temperature to 60 deg C for 2-48 hours; and (d) washing the polymer or polymer membrane with distilled water at 20-95 deg C until the wash water shown no Ag<+> ions; (II) (a) steeping the polymer or polymer mebrane in 0.1M-4M silver nitrate solution at 60 deg C for 2-48 hours; (b) treating the polymer or polymer membrane as Ib above; and (c) treating the polymer or polymer membrane as Ia above; and (III) preparing the membranes in a two-step process comprising steeping the polymer or polymer membrane in a solution of CuCl in concentrated HX (X = Cl, Br, I) at room temperature at 60 deg C until the acid HCuX2 is formed; and (b) steeping the polymer or polymer membrane in distilled water at 20-95 deg C for 5-48 hours.
