<p>This invention is directed to a method for cold sealing a plurality of substrates, typically plastics, foil, paper or combinations thereof, utilizing a cold-sealable adhesive composition that is free of natural latexes ('natural latex-free'). The present invention is also directed to a natural latex-free, cold-sealable adhesive composition that as used therein comprising a latex polychloroprene in the range between about 40% to 100% by weight and a tackifier resin dispersion in the range of about 60% to 0% by weight. In another embodiment, the present invention is directed to a sealed package, wherein the package is sealed in accordance with the method and/or composition of the present invention. A cold seal adhesive composition of the present invention is particularly suitable for use in high-speed printing press and preferably by means of the forward gravure method.</p> |
