<p>An optical fiber having a dispersion value of 6 to 24 ps/nm/km at 1.55 νm wavelength and satisfying the condition expressed by A ⊃ 3 x D + 40 where A (νm2) is the effective core cross section and D (ps/nm/km) is the dispersion value at the center wavelength in the 1.55 νm wavelength band. An optical transmission line comprising the optical fiber for transmitting an optical signal is also disclosed.</p> |
