According to the invention, the armor-piercing bullet or shell comprises a casing (1) which contains, in the top and center portions thereof, a core (2) (preferably a steel one) secured with a securing means (3) such as a stem, a bush or other, to a gasket (4) made of a sufficiently hard material, preferably of steel or brass. A filling (5) made out of lead or another material is located on the other side of the gasket (4). On the rear side of the filling (5), the housing contains a primer (6) which is secured in the wall from the rear side of the filling, in addition to a layer of powder charge (7) and a firing pin (8) secured to the bottom of the casing (1). The powder charge can also be located in the region of the core. However, in such a case, special peripheral recesses have to made in the joint and the lead filling, whereby said recesses communicate with the powder charge in the rear part of the bullet. The region of the core can be filled with oil, with an incendiary mixture or with another content improving the destructive properties thereof. The kill rate of the bullet and the penetration capability thereof are increased, while the ballistic features of said bullet can be controlled.
