The method involves connecting first and/or second test voltages to test the heating coil resistance and/or the insulation resistance before switching on the heating body, evaluating whether the resistance(s) lies within tolerance and if not preventing the heating body from being switched on and/or outputting a fault indication. An Independent claim is also included for a circuit for monitoring at least one heating body.
