The gear selector has a controller for driver selection of the automatic gearbox operating gears D, N, R, and P, which are engaged by an electrohydraulic control elements driven by a gearbox controller, whereby a parking lock applied in the P position can be disengaged by an unlocking device (1) operated by the driver. The parking lock can be engaged by a locking device (2) operated by the driver. Locking and unlocking are performed with a single hand lever (8).
