<p>A health care information management system that utilizes modular and reusable software objects to allow user configuration by allowing for creation of software objects representative of specific events (item 214 of fig. 2) and resources (228) utilized in providing health care. The user configured software modules (212) enables tracking of services (220) provided, resource utilization (230) and allocation (224, 226 and 228), and identification of problem areas. The system allows the user to create manage and maintain software modules representing specific procedural pathways (210) to be performed in a health care institution. The user creates modules using user configurable software objects that function to represent containers (214, 222, 216 and 218), resources (224, 226, and 228) and data (220). The created modules provide information management relating to the provision of medical procedures represented by the procedural pathway modules (210).</p> |
