The invention relates to synergetic herbicides containing a mixture composed of: a) metamitrone (4-amino-4,5 dihydro-3-methyl-6-phenyl-1,2,4-triazin-5-one or 4-amino-3-methyl-6-phenyl-1,2,4-triazine-5(4H)-on) of formula (I); and (b) glufosinate (2-amino-4-(hydroxy-methyl-phosphinyl)-butanoic acid) of formula (ll) and or derived from salts formed from the compound of formula (II) and basic compounds, whereby 1 part by weight of the metamitrone active substance corresponds to 0.01 to 100 parts by weight of glufosinate active substance and/or the salts thereof. The invention also relates to the use thereof as herbicidal agents in the protection of plants.
