According to the inventive method for packaging a material, which can be melted onto an object, in a film that is melted on with the material when processing the same, the film is shaped into a film tube (8) which encloses the material. Said film tube is formed out of a film web by wrapping the film web around a hollow shaped body, which at least partially surrounds the lower discharge end (18) of a filling device (20), and by welding the longitudinal edges of the film web together with a longitudinal weld seam. The film tube (8) is removed from the end of the shaped body, is sealed on the free bottom end thereof with at least one lower transversal weld seam, is filled with a predetermined quantity of the material, and is sealed above the level of the filled quantity by at least one additional transversal weld seam that simultaneously forms the lower transversal weld seam for the next filling process. The formation of the longitudinal weld seam, the removal of the film tube from the shaped body, the filling of the material, and the formation of the transversal weld seams are carried out in a timed manner so that the film tube is subdivided into individual sections filled with the material.
