Film agents for plants characterized by comprising at least one film-forming component selected from among nonionic water-soluble cellulose ethers, water-soluble cellulose glycolate sodium salt and methyl cellulose and saccharides optionally together with sodium citrate and containing water as a medium. By forming films on the surface of fruits, etc. with the use of the above film agents, it is possible to achieve excellent effects, for example, preventing fruit cracking, controlling insects and improving keeping qualities.
