The invention relates to a nucleic acid molecule which comprises a nucleic acid sequence that codes for a haemocyanin, a haemocyanin domain or a fragme nt with the immunological properties of at least one domain of haemocyanin, and which comprises at least one intron sequence. The invention also relates to constructs which contain the nucleic acid molecule and which, optionally, contain a promoter suited for controlling expression. In a preferred embodiment, the construct also contains a nucleic acid sequence which codes for an antigen. The invention also relates to host cells containing these nucleic acid molecules and/or constructs, to the recombinant expression of t he nucleic acid molecules and/or constructs in the host cells, to haemocyanin, a haemocyanin domain, a fragment with the immunological properties of at least one domain of haemocyanin, and to haemocyanin fusion proteins that are coded by the nucleic acid molecules and/or by the constructs. The invention additionally relates to pharmaceutical compositions which contain the nuclei c acid molecules and/or haemocyanin, a haemocyanin domain, a fragment thereof or a fusion protein, and to liposomes containing the nucleic acid molecules and/or haemocyanin, a haemocyanin domain, a fragment thereof or a fusion protein. Finally, the invention also relates to antibodies which can be obtained by immunizing an experimental animal with the haemocyanin, a haemocyanin domain, a fragment thereof or a fusion protein, and to the use thereof in screening methods for identifying tumors.
