摘要 <p>The technical field of the invention broadly relates to injection molding systems and more particularly to cooling of a core (10) used in a mold of an injection molding machine. Cooling a core involves supplying coolant through a lengthwise supply tube (36) that extends within a hollow bore (30) formed in the core (10). The coolant flows through the supply tube (36), exiting as a stream of fluid at an open end (38) of the supply tube (36) where the stream contacts a substantially perpendicular inner surface of the core (30). The stream of fluid is initially deflected by this inner surface on an axis perpendicular to an axis (12) of the original flow producing a stagnation zone in the stream having zero or relatively low velocity. The stagnation zone is adjacent to a high heat gate area and results in poor cooling of the core tip (28). The invention solves the problem of stagnation by application of a fluid velocity inducer (50). The fluid velocity inducer (50) is located in the entry stream path of the fluid inducing a velocity thus reducing or eliminating the stagnation zone and improving the cooling of the core.</p>
