A stethoscope accessory (10) having a ring (14) and a face member (16) for use with a stethoscope (12). The stethoscope (12) comprises a headset (20), a section of tubing (24) and a sound detection device (28) that houses a diaphragm (30) at one side and a bell (31) at an opposite side. The tubing (24) is connected to the sound detection device (28) at one end and the headset (20) at an opposite end. The ring (14) of the stethoscope accessory (10) has an inner and an outer surface (54, 56). The inner surface (54) of the ring (14) has a diameter that fits around and secures the ring (14) to the sound detection device (28) of the stethoscope (12). The face member (16) of the stethoscope accessory (10) extends outward from the outside surface (56) of the ring (14). The face member (16) has a shape that includes facial features of an animal.
