The invention relates to a process for preparing liquid or gel compositions based on nonylphenolethoxylate 10 which comprises four distinct steps: (1) mixing 10 ... 20 % nonylphenolethoxylate 10 with 10 ... 20 % isopropanol, 0.1 ...0.2 % perfuming composition and water up to 100% thereby obtaining the mixture (I) ; (2) 10 ...15 % ethanol is mixed with 0.1 ...0.3 % perfuming composition, 1 ...2 % ammonia spirit, 1...2 % of mixture I and water up to 100% thereby obtaining the mixture II ; (3) 5 ...10 % H2O2 in 30 % concentration is mixed with 20 ... 40 % of mixture I and water up to 100 % thereby obtaining the mixture III ; (4) 10 ... 20 % nonylphenolethoxylate 10 or optionally natrium dodecylbenyene sulphonate is mixed with 3 ... 7 % of mixture I, 1....2 % carboxymethylcellulose and water up to 100 % thereby obtaining mixture ( IV). This process is simple and flexible, and the resulted detergent compositions have high washing power, in relation to the consumed quantity, quick drying capacity, an effect independent of washing water hardness, a low pH (6.5 ....7.5) are not irritating the skin and are used for cleaning carpets, upholstery, clothes, sandstone, faience, sanitary appliances, plates and dishes, and for removing spots.
