The invention relates to a dedusting device used in the separation of dust and other polluting suspensions from gases, especially when cleaning and ionizing the intake air in motor vehicles. According to the invention, the device comprises an outer cylinder (1) secured at its lower part to a dust-collecting bin (2) and having an intake manifold (4) attached at its upper part, said intake manifold (4) having a helical shape in the area comprised between the outer cylinder (1) and an upper cylinder (5) also secured to the manifold (4). Between the two cylinders (1 and 5), the manifold (4) ends with a slot (not represented) in order to generate the vortex motion of the gas to be dedusted. A ionizing and filtering inner cylindrical body (7) is secured to the upper cylinder (5) by means of a ring insulator (6), said cylindrical body (7) being provided with some dedusted gas intake orifices (a). A wire net having the mesh size of preferably 1 mm is laid over the cylindrical body (7). The position of the cylindrical body (7) is maintained by means of a rod (8) whose lower end is insulated by means of a cylinder insulator (9) pre-tensioned with a nut (10), the upper end of the rod (8) also functioning as a high-voltage cathode terminal.
