The invention relates to an installation and method for detecting the integrity of short-circuiting bars and rings of asynchronous motors with short-circuited rotors. The method consists in inducing currents in the rotor bars of a rotor which is driven in front of a permanent magnet (1) by an external constant-speed actuation device. Said magnet is provided with an armature (2) having a V-shaped end. A search coil (3) is located on the armature and the signals picked up by said coil are viewed on the display of an ocillosope (5). The results obtained as pulse trains are presented alongside their interpolation, which is correlated with the integrity of rotor cage (4).
