PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select and exchange a disk smoothly by controlling a disk tray to the storing position inside a cartridge at the time of its insertion and eliminating protrusion of the disk tray. SOLUTION: A cartridge for storing five disk trays is loaded at a prescribed position of a cartridge installation part 17 (17a, 17b, 17c), with a clamp base assembly 16 arranged at a position (initial position) for pulling out the second disk tray. The tip end of the extending arm of the uppermost first disk tray of the cartridge is abutted on the projection 16a of the clamp base assembly 16. The tip end of the second disk tray is abutted on the L-shaped projection 67a of a moving member 67, while the tip end of the third disk tray is abutted on the lower end of the L-shaped projection 67a. The tip end of the fourth disk tray is in contact with a part of a pickup module 14, while the tip end of the fifth disk tray is in contact with a part of a repeating circuit board 80. As a result, each disk tray is controlled at the storing position inside the cartridge, providing a part of the structure of the device body with the structure for preventing the trays from protruding.
