PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, at a low cost, a facilitated and small-sized device for preventing a finger from being caught in a sliding door. SOLUTION: This finger catching prevention device 1 comprises an installation part 2 mounted on a sliding door 10 or a window frame and a control member 5 held on the installation part 2 and positioned between the sliding door 10 and the window frame when the sliding door 10 is closed so as to control the closing of the sliding door 10. The installation part 2 is provided on an X and Y plane of a rectangular three-dimensional coordinate comprising X-, Y-, and Z-axis, a rotating shaft 6 tilted relative to the X-, Y-, and Z-axis is provided at a position apart a specified distance from the installation part 2 in Z-axis direction, and the control member 5 is supported on the rotating shaft 6 at a position apart from an axis of the rotating shaft 6.
