PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the number of occupied ports in an Ethernet line concentrator (HUB) and to unify the wiring from a telephone set and a personal computer to the Ethernet HUB. SOLUTION: An analog telephone set is connected to the Ethernet HUB via a telephone subscriber line 10, is subject to speech control by a subscriber line control section 1 and a call control section 2, a CODEC section 3 and a packet section 4 apply A/D conversion and D/A conversion to a voice signal, and an Ethernet MAC section 5 and a switch section 6 control the transmission of the signal to a computer side and a local area network and the reception of the signal from them. The computer is computer is connected to a 1st Ethernet physical layer section 7 and attains data transmission reception with the local area network via the switch section 6 and a 2nd Ethernet physical layer section 8.
