PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely inform toner empty and suggest exchange of a consumable and to inhibit printing after a point where a good image can no longer be guaranteed. SOLUTION: A developing device 4 is provided with 1 component toner 41, a developing material storing container 42, a carrying mixer 43 formed by a transparent member, a developing roll 44 and a developing camber 45 where the toner 41 is retained. The developing material storing container 42 is wholly made of a transparent member and LED(light emitting diode) chip 17 is installed on a device side where the developing material storing container 42 is placed. It is constituted so that when the toner 41 inside the developing material storing container 42 is consumed, a beam transmitted through the developing material storing container 42 from the LED chip 17 is radiated on a photoreceptor drum 1. At the time of toner empty, a latent image is formed on the photoreceptor drum 1 with the beam from the LED chip 17, this is developed by residue toner 41 in the developing camber 45 and a black band image is outputted on printing paper. This can be surely recognized by a user and enforces exchange of the consumable. |
