DEVICE FOR SELECTING PET BOTTLE ACCORDING TO COLOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively select a PET bottle according to its color at high speed even when the PET bottle has a label. SOLUTION: A detective sensor 2a outputs a positional signal at the fixed timing between the time when the front end in the moving direction of the PET bottle PB with a label invades a detection region and the time when the rear end of the bottle PB goes out of the detection region. A color discriminating sensor 2b outputs a color discrimination signal at the same timing as the output of the sensor 2a. Color information on the bottle PB is obtained at each position in the longitudinal direction in correspondence with the output timing of the positional signal from both outputs. Color information only on the unlabeled part of the bottle PB is obtained from the color information at each position of the bottle PB obtained by sensors 2a and 2b and the positional data on the unlabeled part obtained preliminarily from many PET bottles with the labels.
