IMAGE DISPLAY AT TIME OF BOOT-UP AND SHUT-DOWN

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and effective method for displaying an image in a transient period such as boot-up or shut-down of an operating system(OS) by generating the contents of a system file corresponding to the transient period of the OS. SOLUTION: A boot-up image file and a shut-down image file are generated in a bit map format (610). Original LOGO.SYS, LOGOW.SYS and LOGOS.SYS system files are found out of a system directory, taken out and preserved with other extenders or names in a temporary directory (620). The generated boot-up and shut-down image files are renamed to LOGO.SYS in respect to boot-up and LOGOW.SYS or LOGOS.SYS in respect to shut-down (630). The renamed files are transferred to the system directory (640).
