PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively discriminate a desired protein with a simple operation at reduced cost by using a polymer having a specific molecular template form. SOLUTION: A protein is selectively discriminated with a polymer having a molecular template form and comprising a porous material obtained by the dissolution and removal of a protein having a part of the chemical structure of the protein to be discriminated as a main structure and having structure different from the protein to be discriminated and having pores sufficient to accept the intrusion of the protein to be discriminated into the pore, preferably a pore diameter of 10-100 nm. For example, when the protein to be discriminated is oxytocin, the protein to be removed by dissolution is a peptide of formula proline-leucine-glycine-NH2. The above polymer can be produced by polymerizing the protein to be removed by dissolution, a functional monomer and a polymerizable crosslinking agent in the presence of a diluent, crushing the obtained composite polymer to fine powder and removing the above protein by dissolution.
