PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new silane compound containing a plurality of ethynyl groups on molecular chain ends having high hydrosilylating reactivity, capable of imparting an insoluble tough silicone based polymer material by carrying out a crosslinking reaction with a polymer material or the like having a plurality of Si-H bonds in a molecule. SOLUTION: This compound is expressed by the formula [A is a (substituted) para, mata, orthophenylene; R1 and R2 are each H, an alkyl or the like; n is 1-10], having two or more ethynyl groups on the ends of the molecular chain. The compound of the formula is obtained by reacting (A) a halogenosilane (e.g. phenhyldichlorosilane or the like) expressed by the formula: R1R2SiX2 (X is Cl, Br or I) with (B) an ethynyl metal compound obtained by reacting (i) a compound (e.g. m-diethynylbenzene or the like) expressed by the formula: HC≡C-A-C≡CH) with (ii) preferably, 1.0-1.5 mole times of an organic metal compound of the formula: RM (R is methyl, ethyl or the like; M is Li, Na or the like).
