PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure sufficient durability and longevity even under a using condition of high torque and high speed rotation. SOLUTION: It is possible to remarkably improve durability and longevity of a constant velocity joint to be used in high torque and in high speed rotation by giving excellent smearing resistant property and peeling resistant property to a ball by using steel containing C: 0.8-l.5%, Si: 0.4-1.2%, Mn: 0.8-1.5% and Cr: 0.5-1.8% in weight percentage as a material of the ball 8, quenching and tempering it after carbonitriding it and making residual austenite quantity of a carbonitrided layer 8a formed on a surface layer part of the ball 8 as 20-40 volume %.
