PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excavating device which has an attached core bit capable of generating high torques, which allows easily replacing the worn core bit, and which keeps a core from readily fitting into the core bit. SOLUTION: This excavating device 1 includes: a cylindrical rotor 32 provided in such a way as to be capable of penetrating a core bit 2; a cylindrical stator 33 provided on the outer periphery of the rotor 32; fixing parts 34a, 34b provided at both ends of the rotor 32 to fasten the outer peripheral surface of the core bit 2 disposed inside the cylindrical shape of the rotor 32, to thereby rotate the core bit 2 as the rotor 32 rotates; and a holding bar 4 passed through the cylindrical shape of the core bit 2 to abut on the surface of a core A which is the part of concrete C inside the core bit 2.
