PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten the cutoff valve operating speed by reducing Bernoulli force during normal braking event, and improve response time and stop distance without interruption of Bernoulli force generated during the controlled braking event. SOLUTION: This cutoff valve 20 for controlling a fluid flow of a vehicle brake system includes a solenoid coil assembly 40, and an armature 124 movably positioned in the solenoid coil assembly. The armature includes a ball end part engaged with a ball bearing seat 106, and an edge groove in the ball end part, and when the solenoid coil assembly 40 is de-energized, Bernoulli force exerted on the movement of the armature is changed. The armature may be provided with a valve end part for controlling a fluid flow passing through a fluid passage 104, the edge groove of the valve end part, an outer step and an annular recess.
