PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cushioning material excellent in a formed shape around deep grooves, freely settable in the rigidity and flexibility of its surface part according to an application and moreover having an advantage as the cushioning material formed by an aerating method. SOLUTION: This cushioning material K formed with grooves G 3-60 mm in depth by thermoforming a fiber aggregate comprising matrix fiber formed of crimped synthetic short fiber and binder fiber with a lower fusing point than the matrix fiber, dispersedly mixed in the matrix fiber, is formed by integrally jointing a cushioning member B with grooves less than 3 mm in depth and a cushioning member A with through holes and/or grooves 3-60 mm in depth.
