PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device and its production to avoid disturbance in the axially symmetric alignment of liquid crystal molecules while using spacer beads to regulate the cell gap, namely, to realize wide viewing angle characteristics while decreasing the production cost. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device consists of a first substrate 100a, a second substrate 100b disposed facing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer 30 disposed between the first and second substrates. Polymer walls 16 having inclined faces to the surface of the substrate are formed on the first substrate. The liquid crystal layer has a plurality of liquid crystal regions divided by the polymer walls. Spacer beads 20 to regulate the gap of the liquid crystal layer are present on the tops of the polymer walls and on one inclined face of the polymer wall in the four side lines of the polymer wall surrounding the liquid crystal region. |
