PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a facsimile terminal that automatically communicates abnormality occurrence information with a service center closest to its local station on the occurrence of abnormality such as a fault. SOLUTION: On the occurrence of abnormality (falt or the like) while its local telephone number (its local station number) is registered, the facsimile terminal displays fault occurrence information on a display section and checks whether or not an automatic communication switch is closed. When the automatic communication switch is closed, the facsimile terminal specifies an area of its local station on the basis of a toll station number of its own station telephone number, selects a service center that is the closest to the area from a service center number table and generates a fault information report. The facsimile terminal makes a call to a selected service center, transmits the generated fault information report to the service center. When the transmission is not normally finished, the facsimile terminal selects a 2nd closest service center for a 2nd object on the basis of the service center number table and conducts the processing of transmitting the fault information report to the service center until the fault information report can normally be sent (steps S101-S114).
