PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new human prolactin-releasing peptide receptor gene promoter which comprises a promoter domain containing the regulator sequence of prolactin-releasing peptide receptor gene and is used for the screening or the like of compounds facilitating or inhibiting the promoter activity of this receptor gene. SOLUTION: This human prolactin-releasing peptide receptor gene promoter is a new human prolactin-releasing peptide receptor gene promoter comprising a DNA containing a promoter domain which contains the regulator sequence of prolactin-releasing peptide receptor gene and is represented by the base sequence represented by the formula or the base sequence containing the partial sequence and is useful in the method, kit or the like for screening out compounds (salts) facilitating or inhibiting the promoter activity of this receptor gene. This DNA is obtained by screening out a human gene library as a base sequence correspondent to the amino acid sequence of known human prolactin- releasing peptide receptor cDNA and selecting a clone DNA reacting with a probe to carry out recloning.
