PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid concentration sensor having improved reliability of measurement accuracy. SOLUTION: This sensor is arranged in such a form as to put on the both side of a liquid developer 1 in the interval between two glass rods 5 which are given conductivity with the surfaces covered with transparent conductive thin films, and placed oppositely at a prescribed interval. And, a light-emitting element 6 for emitting light into the glass rods 5 is arranged on one end of the two glass rods 5, and a light- receiving element 7 is arranged on the other end. Conductivity is given between the glass rods 5 and glass rod holding members 2, 3, and an alternating voltage is applied on the surfaces of the two glass rods 5. Repulsion is generated relative to a solid content included in the liquid developer 1 by the alternating voltage, and adhesion of the solid content to the glass rods 5 is prevented by the repulsion. Therefore, such phenomena are prevented that a developing solid content in the liquid developer 1 adheres to the surfaces of the glass rods 5 by an electrostatic characteristic, and that a transmissivity of light from the light-emitting element 6 to the light-receiving element 7 is reduced, and that the concentration becomes lower than the essential concentration of the liquid developer 1, and that the concentration of print image quality is reduced.
