PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shielding-type article inspection device capable of inspecting a test object accurately without being influenced by outside light, and capable of executing highly precise inspection. SOLUTION: When fruits and vegetables A loaded on a conveyance conveyor 2 are carried into a light shielded chamber 40 or carried out therefrom, outside light is shielded by linear shielding bodies 41... hung vertically on opening parts 40a, 40b of the light shielded chamber 40. When the linear shielding bodies 41 on the front group side hung vertically on the opening parts 40a, 40b are pushed apart by the fruits and vegetables A, shielding is executed by the residual linear shielding bodies 41. Before the linear shielding bodies 41 on the rear group side are pushed apart by the fruits and vegetables A, the linear shielding bodies 41 on the front group side are hung down to execute shielding, to thereby enable to prevent outside light other than light from a light source 49 irradiated onto the fruits and vegetables A from entering the inside of the light shielded chamber 40.
