PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high shape precision and high appearance precision by providing a slanting face shape having an inclination equal or approximately equal to that of the tangent of a machined face circumferential edge in a polishing fixture to be used in polishing a machined face. SOLUTION: A polishing fixture 12 cut on a slanting face tilted at the same inclination as the tangent of a machined face circumferential edge of a die is installed to the circumferential edge of an unfinished die 3 cut into a freely curved face shape by means of a bolt without any gap. The unfinished die 3 and the polishing fixture 12 integrated with each other are fixed to a holder 7 so as to be installed to a work spindle shaft 8. A tool spindle shaft 9 is pressed after an elastic polisher 1 is mounted, and the tool spindle shaft 9 is rotated for polishing. While polishing fluid is supplied to a machined face 4 in the unfinished die and the elastic polisher 1, polishing is carried out, and then, a finished die is provided when the polishing fixture and the die are separated from each other. In this way, a die without any rolled edge can be easily provided with high shape precision and high appearance precision.
