MAGNETO-RESISTANCE EFFECT HEAD AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magneto-resistance effect head capable of discharging static electricity to prevent static breakdown during manufacture and/or usage and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: In this magneto-resistance effect head, vertical diodes 56 and 58 constituted of P type and N type semiconductor thin films laminated are inserted between leads 40 and 40' of a magneto-resistance effect element or between the leads 40 and 40' and a magnetic shield so as to connect them. The magneto-resistance effect head having these vertical diodes 56 and 58 is manufactured by a thin film art and this vertical diodes 56 and 58 can be manufactured by a spot laser annealing treatment.
