PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polarized wave maintaining optical fiber part wherein the connection of propagating light to a higher order mode in an optical connecting part 15 is prevented, an excessive loss is lessened and moreover a polarized wave axis is easily adjusted. SOLUTION: This part is manufactured by using the polarized wave maintaining optical fibers 14 which are composed of the concentric circle of cores 11 or clads 12 and moreover the diameter of the largest one of the fiber in the inner part of which a stress imparting part 13 is not included is 20μm or more regardless of the stress imparting parts 13.
