PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved process for producing an acyloxysilane. SOLUTION: The objective process for the production of an acyloxysilane is carried out according to the reaction formula: [RnSi][(NH)(4-n)][SiRn]+ RnSiX(4-n)+3(4-n)R'COOH→3RnSi(OCOR')(4-n)+(4-n)NH4X (R and R' are each a 1-20C alkyl or an aryl; X is a halogen; (n) is an integer of 1 to 3). The reaction is carried out in an aprotic solvent, the solvent is diethyl ether and silazane is produced in situ by the reaction of the corresponding halosilane with ammonia.
