PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the possibility of the posing of danger to passengers in the bursting operation and to prevent passengers from receiving the electric shock, by upwardly forming a bursting port for releasing an internal gas and internal burned components in the operation of an arrester. SOLUTION: In an arrester body 1, a porcelain pipe 1 of a conventional on-roof arrester directly mounted on a side of a pantograph is vertically inverted to upwardly place a bursting hole, whereby the upwardly spouted internal gas is partially bounced on an upper inner surface of a protective cover 2A, and downwardly blown out through the inside of the protective cover 2A. In this arrester for vehicle, one side of each small mount base 3b made of angle steel is respectively welded to an L-shaped large mount base 3a to be directly mounted on the side of the pantograph, a protective cover 2 is mounted on an upper surface at an opposite side of the mount vase 3a, of an arrester mount base 3 formed into the inverted U-shape in a plane view, and its lower four corners are fixed to the mount base 3b by means of bolts.
