PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a charge transfer device which improves transfer efficiency at the final stage of a charge transfer part without increasing a stray-diffusion capacity of the charged detection part at all, and further which increases the maximum quantity of transferred charge at the final stage. SOLUTION: An output gate electrode 101 of the final stage of a charge transfer part is formed straight regarding a direction of a channel's width 126 and a width 125 of the output gate electrode is made narrower than the width 126 of a transfer channel. The output gate electrode 101 on the transfer channel is surrounded in a U shape with a first final transfer electrode 102 which becomes a charge storage region. The electrode 102 on the transfer channel is further surrounded in a U shape with a second final transfer electrode which becomes a potential barrier region.
