PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sink, by which kitchen operation can be conducted efficiently. SOLUTION: The sink 1 has a recessed section 2 formed in approximately the whole region in the cross direction of an upper section and an operating plate 4 for kitchen operation being detachably placed in the recessed section 2 and covering approximately the whole of the recessed section 2. An opening 9 for drainage communicated with a drain inlet 3 mounted in the recessed section 2 is formed between the end section of the operating plate 4 and the vertical wall section 2a of the recessed section 2 so as to surround the whole circumference of the operating plate 4. Water used with kitchen operation is drained to the drain inlet 3 through the opening 9.
