PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode structure of a large-sized substrate for a liquid crystal device which allows the assurance of the number of blank layouts equal to that of the conventional alternate configuration and does not give rise to crosstalks even if the baking temperature of insulating films is increased. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display is constituted by forming wiring patterns of first electrodes S1 (third electrodes R3) and fourth electrodes S4 on the first large-sized substrate 110, alternately forming the wiring patterns of second electrodes C2 and fifth electrodes C5 (sixth electrodes R6) on the second large-sized substrate 120 and forming the insulating films 7 by a hard- coating agent mainly composed of silica precursor polysiloxane, then baking the film at a baking temperature of about 300 deg..
