PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a recording fluid that can give a recording satisfactory in both quick driability and a recording density even on plain paper, which fluid contains a fluorine-substituted alcohol having a specified number of carbon atoms. SOLUTION: The fluorine-substituted alcohol used in the recording fluid is a 1-15C alcohol. The alcohol usually used has 1-31 fluorine groups in the molecule. It is exemplified by 2,2-3,3-tetrafluoro-1-propanol or 1H,1H,3H- hexafluorobutanol and is used in an amount of 0.1-15 wt.%, based on the recording fluid, which is desirable in view of the quick driability, storage stability, and printing density of the recording fluid. The colorant that can be used is a carbon black such as acetylene black, channel black or furnace black. The carbon black is used in an amount of 2-15 wt.% based on the entire weight of the recording fluid. It is desirable that the carbon black has a DBP absorption of 140-300 ml/100 g. |
